These words form part of the crest for the Falkland Islands and are proudly carried as the strap line for the Islanders team, which was formed back in 1996 by Grant Budd, a player with links to the Falkland Islands.
Grant Budd's vision back then was to provide a basis for young ice hockey players to develop and move on to senior leagues, and for senior players to continue playing at a competitive level. This philosophy has carried the team for 10 years and through 9 playing seasons (the team did not compete in 1998/1999), bringing through players from the famous Peterborough development system, some of which are now playing at international level.
The team now competes in the English National League. This continues to get stronger year on year and offers the team a different set of challenges. But the original spirit will never change and neither will the team motto: desire the right.
